The KYVU T17 is a handmade wide-tooth styling comb built around two design features that work together to make thick and textured hair easier to manage.
The first is the step-tapered tooth. Each of the 23 teeth has a rigid square base that transitions into a precision-tapered tip, finishing in a smooth rounded point. This geometry means each tooth slides between hair strands rather than pushing against them bluntly — significantly less resistance, less pulling, and less breakage than a standard comb with uniform rectangular teeth.
The second is the curved spine. The T17's spine follows a gentle C-shaped arc rather than lying flat. This means the teeth make progressive, graduated contact with the hair as the comb passes through rather than hitting all at once — producing a remarkably fluid combing motion through even the thickest hair.
Crafted from premium cellulose acetate — plant-derived, eco-friendly, and significantly lower in static than plastic — the T17 glides through hair without causing frizz or flyaways. Each comb is individually hand-finished by skilled craftspeople, with smooth rounded tooth tips and no rough edges or mould lines.
