The KYVU A2 is a handmade metal pocket comb, hand-finished from 6163-grade aluminium — a high-specification alloy chosen for its clean workability, smooth finish, and long-term resistance to corrosion. Unlike the cast aluminium used in cheaper mass-produced metal combs, 6163-grade material takes a hand-polished surface that stays genuinely smooth over years of use. The result is a comb that feels substantial in the hand without being heavy, and performs identically year after year without degrading.
At 11.9 cm and 17 grams, the A2 is a true pocket comb — compact enough for any pocket, wash bag or travel kit, and robust enough that you will never think about replacing it. The coarse-tooth design moves efficiently through thick, wavy, curly and textured hair, and works equally well for beard and moustache grooming. Aluminium generates no static charge, so there are no flyaways or frizz after combing — on dry or damp hair alike.
Every tooth is individually ground, polished and rounded by hand through multiple finishing steps. No sharp points, no rough edges, no mould lines. The comb glides across the scalp without scratching, and through hair without snagging. Each comb is laser-engraved with the KYVU brand and model number — a mark of consistent quality control across every unit produced.
After hand-polishing and buffing, the A2 undergoes a full anodizing process — an electrochemical treatment that hardens the aluminium surface, enhances corrosion resistance, and creates a smoother finish than bare polished metal. The same surface treatment used in quality engineering applications. Maintains its finish and feel through years of daily use without tarnishing, pitting or degrading.
